A gloved doctor's hand holding an iPhone running Rounds

Clinical practice for every student and every rotation.

The patient you need to see, at whatever hour you’re studying, without waiting for a standardized patient or a shift.

860+conditions to work up, from strep throat to aortic dissection, across 25 rotations and specialties.

This is what being ready looks like.

Walk onto the rotation having seen it before.

Pick your rotation and work up the patients you’ll meet there, from chest pain on medicine to belly pain on surgery.

In the app: Filter cases by rotation, body system or care setting.

You’ll forget it’s practice.

It plays like a real encounter, and it’s built so you can trust it.

Like the real thing

  • Talk or type

Ask out loud like a real encounter, or type. The patient answers in their own words.

  • Patients who act like patients

They answer what you ask and nothing more. Nobody hands you the diagnosis.

  • Examine and order tests

Choose the exam, order labs and imaging, and read results in US units.

Safe to rely on

  • Safe to be wrong

Every patient is fictional, so the missed diagnosis happens here, not on the wards.

  • Built on reference data

Conditions and drugs come from public data from the U.S. National Library of Medicine and openFDA.

  • Yours to delete

No ads, no tracking across other apps. Delete your account and its data from inside the app.

It’s your patient.

Like a standardized patient encounter, except it’s on your phone at 2 a.m. and the only one grading you is the debrief.

Before your first patient.

Who is Rounds for?

US medical students, MS1 to MS4, getting ready for rotations, OSCEs and shelf or board exams. Anyone else who wants to practice is welcome too.

Are the patients real?

No. Every patient is fictional, written for practice. Never enter real patient information.

How is a case graded?

On the whole workup: the history you took, the exam, the tests you ordered and your diagnosis. The debrief shows the points for each part and what you missed.

Do I have to talk out loud?

No. Ask out loud like a real encounter, or type. Both work.

Is it medical advice?

No. Rounds is for training only. The patients, grades and feedback are written by AI and can be wrong, so check what you learn against your coursework.

What happens to my data?

No ads, no tracking across other apps, and you can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time. The privacy policy has the details.
